This webinar series brings together educators, faculty members, trainers, and students interested in integrating deliberate practice into academic programs. The series explores how skills-based learning can be introduced into university and postgraduate training while remaining connected to more traditional, theory-driven approaches.

Gunnar Hays Gotaas is a clinical psychologist and Assistant Professor at NTNU, Norway. His teaching focuses on helping psychology students develop foundational interpersonal and therapeutic skills through structured practice, feedback, and deliberate practice.
Olav Njølstad Egeland and Ragnhild Leth-Olsen are fourth-year clinical psychology students at NTNU and student assistants in Deliberate Practice in Psychotherapy. Alongside facilitating practice and learning among students, they are conducting a qualitative study exploring students’ experiences of deliberate practice and its potential for developing interpersonal abilities relevant to psychotherapy.
Together, the three guest speakers will offer perspectives from both teaching and student experience, highlighting the opportunities and challenges of integrating deliberate practice into the training of future psychotherapists.
